Location & First Impressions
Staying in the lap of luxury in the most romantic city in the world is about the most you could ask for. Or is it? It just so happens that the Ritz Paris could not be in a more convenient spot.
Regarding hotels, it checks all the boxes for what you’d hope for in a stay. After all, who wouldn’t love being able to walk to places like the Louvre and Tuileries Gardens or have a scenic afternoon tea?
Upon arrival, you might forget what century it is. Pull up to the entrance. There’s no mistaking what city you’re in. The buildings are Parisian in design, as is the plaza in front.
Old-world charm oozes from every brick, from the statues to the light posts. There’s almost a calling to go inside, if nothing else, to see the interior of the detailed architecture.
The Check-in Experience
Nothing makes you feel as welcome as smiling faces grandly opening the door while approaching the doors. However, the experience starts before that.
Being picked up at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in a fancy ride made me feel special just for arriving in France. Getting a ride to the Ritz Paris allowed me to enter the city.
There was no wait at the counter to check in. The whole process went swiftly. Before I knew it, an attendant was guiding me to the room. Luckily, I didn’t need to try and fool anyone with a French accent. I was able to speak English during the check-in process.

Room Overviews
There are just under 160 rooms and suites at the Ritz Paris. Regular rooms are a tad on the smaller side, but the balcony helps. The rooms are quite posh and decorated to exude style with a touch of character.
Even the sink has a golden swan providing the water. Not every room has a wonderful view. Some look straight across at other buildings, but the room interiors make up for it. Of course, so does the roof terrace.
Property Amenities & Facilities
Many, if not most, hotels are just a gateway to a location. Ritz Paris is not that. You could stay here and live an entire vacation without doing anything else.
There are just that many amenities. This is one of the best places I’ve experienced, and it would be worth booking for relaxation, thanks to the incredible spa.
Pampering is for everyone here. Want a new hairdo? Need a massage? Looking for access to luxury face and body products? Itching to get a workout? Whatever it is that uplifts you, they seem to have available.
Dining & Cuisine
There are several places to get food or drink at Ritz Paris. That sounds like a lot, but due to the hotel’s popularity, it’s common for each place to be busy. Bar Hemingway was full of ambiance but ended up with slow service.
Perhaps one of the most popular places is Salon Proust, famous for teatime. There are only dainty desserts here, but worth trying, even if you don’t have a sweet tooth. My favorite was Le Grand Brunch because the brunch spread was so diverse.
The Ritz Paris is a popular place to get a beverage or have a meal, even for those who aren’t registered guests. From observing and enjoying the options, I noticed a bit of bias. Visiting during the summer often means preferring lighter attire, including shorts.
I witnessed several potential patrons turned away for not wearing floor-length pants. Looking nice is understandable, but stifling temperatures make long pants undesirable.
Surrounding Area
Being this close to the action in Paris is a major win. Also, not having to go anywhere and still doing so much makes this an attractive place for any visitor to France.
Immediately surrounding the hotel are buildings, such as government buildings, that look very similar to the hotel. However, several attractions are within walking distance once you get out toward the road.
A few must-see places include the 17th-century Tuileries Gardens, Musee d’Orsay, Domaine National du Palais-Royal, and the Louvre Museum.

Value for Money: Is Ritz Paris Worth the Price?
If you’re reading this Ritz Paris review, you are likely under no illusion that the name alone equates to money. The cheapest room starts at around $2,500 a night. Presumably, if you’re staying here, that number doesn’t phase you. It might be a hard pill to swallow. It gives me enough anxiety to last a decade.
Therefore, whether you’ve saved up to be able to afford it or a room like this fits easily into your budget, I can confirm the stay is worth it. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel like royalty.
